Pond Pumps:

A pump is vital to circulate and aerate the water by pushing the water through filters, fountains or waterfalls.
Size of pump required
This depends on what job(s) you want the pond pump to do:
Fountains - 0.5 m of fountain requires 500 litres per hr.Waterfalls - you need 1000 lph per 10cm of stream.
Filtration - Turn pond volume over every 2 hrs.
If you want the pond pump to feed an item above the height of the waterline then additional presure will be required (head height of 1m is shown), if you want to pump to additional heights please check with us first.

It's a good idea to buy a pond pump to do a particular job - you can always operate more than one in your pond. If keeping expensive fish stocks consider buying a cheap reserve pump in case of mechanical failure.
